AML/CFT Infringement Fees

Overview

The AML/CFT (Omnibus) Amendment Bill establishes an infringement regime to support the AML/CFT supervisor to respond to minor misconduct and low-level offending.  

Before any regulations are made under these powers, the Ministry is consulting businesses and individuals to seek feedback on fee levels for infringement offences in the proposed AML/CFT infringment scheme.

The consultation document sets out the method used to develop potential fee levels, with two sets of fee options. Feedback is sought on whether the fees are set at the right level so that they provide fair and proportionate responses to non-compliance.
